How do you feel about the N word? Personally, I've been conflicted lately. I grew up using it and its like second nature to me, but how can you be upset with someone else for using it. In hip hop we embrace it like a term of endearment, we call everybody my nigga but as soon as a white person uses it, all hell breaks loose. I hear some people say white people can't use it because its our word. They say we took it and made it something positive, but how can such a negative term be positive. Our ancestors were degraded, beaten, and killed behind that word. They're still lynching and killing us at will in America just like the 1800's and you still defend your right to use this word. The Willie Lynch Syndrome is real and until we wake up and realize how we've been manipulated and controlled we can never change our situation in America.
The other day I was riding down a street not too far from where I live and I realized, this is a predominately Black and Latino neighborhood and all the gas stations were owned by Indians. Blacks owned a few restaurants and barber/beauty shops, but no majors stores. There are Mexican owned grocery stores, clothing stores and countless other business owned by them, for them. I feel like we as African Americans miss a lot of opportunities because we don't take advantage of it when it presents itself. Recently several grocery stores closed in a nearby rural area and the only conversations I've heard is, "What are we going to do now?" "How we gone get groceries now?" This is a perfect opportunity to start a community grocery store! If we don't do for us, no one will. We can build a better community, but we have to put in the work, and it starts with you and me.
MPower The World
Why do we spend money we don't have for things we don't need to impress people we don't like? People go broke to buy designer brand clothes to impress the opposite sex, when the main objective is to get them out of those clothes. Some people barely have a roof over their heads yet they have a new Mercedes and can't afford the maintenance on it. Why have a 4,000 square foot home if it's just you and your lady?
Debt is a repeating cycle and as long as you're in debt, you're a slave to this system. I know, there are some things that are necessities, but a car you can't afford is not one of them. A car is transportation, it can be 10 years old, as long as it gets you from point A to point B. Some people like to keep up with the Jones's, but the Jones's aren't even paying attention to you. Trying to live someone else's life has caused a lot of people to lose everything they have. Just remember the grass is not always greener on the other side. Just because they have nice things don't mean they're happy.
At the end of the day we have to do what right for us and our situation. We can't be in competition with one another and expect to succeed in life. Invest time and money in the things that are important to us.
This is a message to my white Brothers and sisters: The sooner you realize that we are one in the same and faced with the same enemy, the sooner we can unite and defeat this system. We all need to wake up!!!
Waking up is realizing they are poisoning your food and water just like ours. Waking up is realizing they are playing you just like they are playing us. They are using you to do their dirty work so there's no blood on their hands. Waking up is seeing that the only reason they give you privilege is to keep you on their side and blind to the fact that you are being manipulated. Waking up is realizing there's only one race; the human race. We all originate from the same God and we are all equal. Waking up means you denounce your allegiance with the oppressor and you recognize their evil ways. Waking up means you're tired of seeing your black brothers killed and unfairly targeted. Waking up is realizing black men have been systematically destroyed through their manipulation of you and your ancestors. Waking up is realizing we are all victims to this 1% of #Devils that hide behind politicians and corporations. Waking up is realizing the only way to defeat this enemy is to unite, not as whites, blacks, asians, and latinos, but as human beings!!!
I just pray that we all wake up before it's too late. They are 1%, we are the 99%! There's strength in numbers, but those numbers have to be United and moving in one accord.
Money gains you influence!!! With money you can create your own media, your own news, your own movie industry, and your own music industry. You won't have to rely on their media, their news for your information. With money you can buy leverage from their leaders, you can control their politicians, and become a force behind the scenes. They keep us distracted from building wealth through TV, music, politics, racism, religion, and a deeply rooted self hatred. Instead of us combining our resources to become stronger, we tear each other down and try to destroy one another before we can gain the proper leverage.
I'm writing this not to belittle my brothers and sisters, but to help you open your eyes. Combine your funds and your grind, stack your money and invest as a team, it gives you more leverage. Show respect to each other and always help each other. In order to be successful we have to work together and build our own industries, rely on each other. This doesn't just pertain to my black brothers, this is for all races and creeds. The government and their controllers are against everyone outide of their circle. As long as we're blind to their actions and at each other's throats, we can't possibly attempt to stop their actions.
The main thing I want you to see is, as a team we can be more effective. Just look at the government, the people far out number them yet they control our every move. We fear them even though we out number them, the reason being, they work together to keep us beneath them. No matter how much they oppose each other in the public, they are all in one team, with one common goal, maintaining their power.
As a final thought, I challenge the American people to analyze your leadership, think of what they've done to help you, think of how they've made your life easier. If they're not helping you or making my life easier, then what are they doing. Its time the people govern themselves, get these old politicians out and change the way this country operates.
Here's some food for thought, why do we continue to look to the government for equality? This is the same government that allows KKK rallies at their monuments, but send the police when it's 3 or more minorities gathered on one accord. This is the same government that preaches integration and practices separation. The same government that gives reparations to Jews for the Holocaust and tells blacks to get over 400 years of slavery. Why do we give them the power to run this country, when of we all stand together United as one, we overrule them? Why do we allow them to turn us against one another when in reality, we are all the same. White, black, Asian, Mexican, Indian, Islamic we are all human. Stop falling victim to their plan, as long as we're fighting amongst each other, we can't see how they exploit us and continue to get rich. Its amazing that we will hate a person for the color of their skin yet, the man sitting in the office over charging you for health care, over charging you for education, creating fake wars, giving law enforcement the right to shoot us down in the street gets a pass because he's a politician. Wake up and see the deception!!! This country is in need of reform and it has to start with the people. The only way this world is going to change, is if we stand up and change it ourselves.
How many times have we heard, "Come on brah, look out for your people!" Or "Man that nigga charging too much!" We refuse to see value in others because we don't see the value in ourselves and what makes it worse we look to our oppressor for validation. Most times it's not even a conscious decision, we have been conditioned and groomed to hate or undervalue ourselves. We don't fully support black owned businesses, we don't respect our women, and we sabotage anything good we see our people doing. The only way to overcome this mindset, break the cycle! Change the way we think, change the way we learn, and most importantly, change the way we earn. If we don't have to depend on an oppressor for sustenance, he no longer has power over us. The first step in this process, change our perception. Change the way we view ourselves, the way we view our situation, the we can change the way we view others. We must also remember, change starts within you, if you're not willing to change, how can you possibly expect the world to change?
Be the change you want to see in the world!!!
Imagine if you will, being the leader of a Utopian society that was highly advanced, and possessed the knowledge of God, and you learned of a society that was still in the dark ages, primitive in nature. Imagine if you journeyed to this society with intentions of shedding light on this primitive culture and helping them advance into modern times. Imagine bringing the leaders of that Culture back to your empire and educating them with everything you know, teaching them about farming, irrigation, government, and mathematics. You teach them about God and the universe, the stars in the sky and how it all operates. Imagine if you sent them back to their society with all this new found knowledge to spread to their people. Imagine them going back and spreading this knowledge, but not with the intentions of building a better world, but instead, they planned to overthrow your empire. Imagine they went back and built an army and devised a plan to use your knowledge against you. Imagine they came back to your empire, imagine thinking it was a friendly visit, but instead it was a sneak attack. Imagine they kill, rape, and pillage your entire empire. Imagine they kill you and enslave your women and children and anyone that goes against their plans is executed and made an example of. Imagine them destroying all documentation of your history, imagine them defacing all your monuments, imagine them rewriting your history books and painting themselves as the savior of your society. Imagine them brainwashing your descendants and teaching them to hate their own skin. Imagine centuries of oppression and abuse at the hands of the same people you tried to help. Imagine one of your descendants discovering a trace of your past. Imagine that igniting a passion inside of him, imagine that giving birth to a lust for knowledge similar to yours. Imagine this person setting out to spread this knowledge just as you did thousands of years ago. Imagine this man sparking a revolution to overthrow this new Oligarchy. Imagine him awakening his brothers and sisters and them standing United as one, just as you did in the past.
For as long as I can remember, I've referred to my brothers as niggas, its almost second nature. My niggas, What up nigga, etc., but why have we adopted this word as a term of endearment, why will we use it all day and be quick to knock a white persons head off when they use it? Why will we defend our right to use it amongst ourselves and get mad when others use it? What if we replaced all the niggas with Kings? What if we referred to ourselves as Kings and Queens instead of niggas and bitches? There is power in your words, what you think is what you become. If you think negativity you will breed negativity. Your thoughts become actions, if you think like a King, you will act like a King. Positive thoughts lead to positive actions.
When do we stop using the excuses, "This was my only way out.", "I didn't have any other options.", "I didn't choose the streets, the streets chose me." Life is a multiple choice test, there are so many options once you open your eyes. How many friends do you have to lose to these streets before you realize, there is another way out, there is a better way. I've seen so many brothers leave here because they were too blind to see their other options. I'm not perfect, I've done ...my fair share of dirt, I'm just thankful I was able to see the light before it was too late. I want everybody out there to analyze your situation, look at your options, and if all else fails, ask questions. There are plenty brothers that have been where you've been and done what you've done and escaped that life, reach out and ask questions because I'm sure they don't have any problems with helping another brother find his way.
Stop making excuses and start creating solutions. I remember feeling like my only way out was the drug game, then I discovered my musical talent. Some times I feel like we choose what seems like the easy way out. It might seem easier to sell that dope than to apply yourself and chase those dreams. Because when you do the math, most drug dealers actually earn less than minimum wage and risk their freedom for crumbs. The same time you invest in negativity could be applied to starting your own business or helping clean up your community.
We've got to cut out the excuses and start making better choices. The future depends on the moves we make today. Our children are depending on us, our grandkids are depending on us. If we don't make a better way for them, no one else will. We must educate ourselves and spread the knowledge through out our communities.
